He’s Changing Your Story
“God will meet you where you are in order to take you where He wants you to go.” - Tony Evans
God is changing your story. Period. Where you are right now is not the end. Where you’re going is only the beginning. What will happen is the story. What has happened is the past. We can look in order to learn but don’t walk backwards. We get to our destination faster when we look towards where we’re headed. You are an amazing human being. An amazing person that God created for amazing things. “'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future. '” (Jeremiah 29:11). He loves you with an everlasting love. Your story is an amazing story. Even though sometimes it feels hopeless, or like there is no ending to it. Maybe it feels like there is no reason for you to be here right now. I want to tell you you’re wrong. God is changing your story.
I know that I have said we have the ability to change our story. However, we are limited in the things that we can change. God can change anything and everything. There’s nothing that is impossible for him. You know this and this is your reminder. He is changing your story. It looks like you’re trapped. It looks like you are lost. It looks like it’s hopeless. It may have been years and all you see ahead of you is darkness. But who has the pen? Who wields the glory? Who has the power? The One who is changing your story.
“I am the Lord, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27
Pick yourself up and tilt your chin up because he has not forgotten about you. He is reminding you he loves you in little ways. The big way is coming. Your story is about to change. That loss is not the end. Depression is not for you. Worry is not for you. Anxiety is not for you. He is making a way. He is working in ways we cannot see or understand. We can’t always see the work He is doing but something big is always cooking. We cannot begin to understand the hows and the whys, but it will all fall in place perfectly. Please keep holding on. The story is not over. You’re still breathing therefore the pen is still writing. “Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.” (Psalms 37:7). Look to God for the answer.
Nothing good happens when we take over the story. When we try to grab the wheel from the passenger’s seat it’s trouble we are asking for. Either that or we are going to get lost. We don’t have the map of life or the key to the future. We don’t have an inkling of what we are doing though a lot of times we think we do. If that was the case, we would be in charge. Problems wouldn’t exist. Instead, we are like toddlers ready to move out on our own. Please don’t do it. Let Him do it. “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this:”(Psalms 37:5). It may feel like a risk to let go and let God. But I promise you, you won’t regret it. He’s got you more than you’ve got Him. That should make you sigh with relief. He has never failed so you’re in good hands.
He’s changing your story. He knows your path. He’s your father in Heaven. He knows best and sees all. So release the stress, release the tension, release the failures, release the anger. Let Him carry your pain. Let Him carry your fears. Let Him carry your worries. It does not end here. You are beginning the end of this chapter. Get ready for a new one!
Healing is a process that can be different for everyone. So how do you know you are going through it?
