I Feel Again

If you can’t figure out your purpose, figure out your passion. For your passion will lead you right into your purpose. -T.D. Jakes

Can you feel that? Not the wind in your hair. That feeling in your soul. Like a hint of excitement and passion mixed in one. That’s you working on your gift. The difference from working any old job and doing something you were meant to do. You love that feeling. It’s making your toes tingle. You can’t sit still. It’s like a kid at the candy store high. You can’t imagine doing anything else. You leave and you can’t wait to come back. You think about it as you are washing dishes. You wonder when next you’ll be back. I’m not talking about love for another human either. That’s a different story for another day. I’m talking about that passion you want to work on. That task that gets you all jumpy and happy.

Not everyone is lucky enough to find out what their passion is. Or are able to figure it out. But the day you do and it is all you want to do then consider yourself blessed. You got to an important part of your journey in life. God placed this yearning in your heart before you were born. Your life has been a path of preparing you to get to this exact moment of realizing what you are meant to do. What you were born to carry. It comes easily. It comes greatly. It comes smoothly.

However for those of you who have not found it yet don’t fret. Your journey is still continuing. You will get there at the perfect time. Age is most certainly nothing to worry about. Abraham was ninety nine years old when God called Him and he learned what he was meant to do. On the hand for those worried they are too young it’s been said Jeremiah was approximately 17 when he was called.

Trust me when the moment does arrive you will know. I spent so many years worried I was going to miss my calling like a boat. I often forget that God is in charge. He doesn’t make a mistake or miss a moment. He didn’t lose Jonah in the whale and panic.

When He is ready to tell you He will tell you.

Picture Saul and how he was knocked off his horse and blinded. Now you are most definitely not missing a message like that and hopefully not getting one like that either.

I have loved writing since I was a kid. I spent days writing stories on a typewriter. It was the late eighties. It was cool then.  I entered competitions and got published in the national paper once. I always thought I would write children’s books. Not where I was meant to go. I seemed to hit dead ends when it came down to finally putting it together. As I went through life writing was always a constant. Through journals or poems or more short stories. I had a love for it but I didn’t know what vessel it was supposed to be used in. Until one day I woke up struggling with life. I was in tears and upset and opened my laptop hoping to just pour out all of my feelings onto the screen. Instead, I wrote my first piece. Struggle Day. In an odd way I was comforting myself as I wrote something hoping to comfort others. All the sadness and despair disappeared and was replaced with that feeling. That amazing exhilarating feeling and I was crazy excited for someone who was going through a rough patch in life. I knew I had found it. Not exactly sure where my next journey is but I know this is the beginning.

So if you totally get what I am talking about then I’m excited for you and pray you continue on your amazing journey. If you are excited to get to that point then you very well should be. Because it is a day you are going to never forget.
