Alone

God sees you! Even when no one else does, Even when you don’t.” - Suzane Christie

Have you ever been in a room crowded with people and you feel like you’re alone with your troubles? Have you ever been in the middle of a party, and you feel like you’re alone with your sadness? I know it feels that way sometimes. But you my dear are not alone. There are others who are struggling with you. There are others who feel the same hurt that you do. There are others who have the same longing as well. Sometimes it helps us to know that there are others out there who want the same things. That there are others out there who are struggling in the same way that we are struggling. Misery loves company after all. To be able to understand each other’s pain and loss can help and comfort us in so many ways.

But then sometimes it doesn’t help at all. Sometimes it just makes it feel worse. Why do we all have to suffer? Why is the world so sad? Instead, you look for a ray of sunshine anywhere. You hope for someone to bring some of their joy and light to make it better. Knowing that we are all in the dungeon together can sometimes make the pain worse. But having someone try to lift you into their peace is the key instead.

Either way, whenever you feel alone there’s one thing I want you to remember.

God sees you.

Even in that dark corner, God sees you. As much as you hide everything from everyone else, God sees you. He sees your true emotions. He sees through your armor. He sees your tears. He sees through your brave smile. You may not see him but he has been there every second of the way. As hard as your journey looks, as hard as the pain feels he will rescue you. He will come through in the end. I just need you to keep holding on and don’t give up.

So if you feel like you can’t relate to anyone around you, try him. If you feel like you cannot talk to or cry with anyone near you talk to him, cry with him. Nobody knows you better than he does. In fact he knows you better than you know yourself. He sees you trying your hardest when you feel like you don’t have anything left in you. He sees you getting discouraged when you feel like you’re being taken advantage of. He sees you helping and doing your best when others think you don’t even care. He will never take you for granted. He will never disrespect you. He will never try to make you feel less then. Because he sees you. He sees your heart, he sees your love. And he sees your hopes and your dreams. He sees your journey and knows the way. Even though you lose your trust in Him because of all the hurt and pain and brokenness, God sees you and loves you.

Not only does he see you but he sees your beginning and your end. He sees the blessings coming. He sees the way that you are growing and the way that you are conquering. Feeling like you’re alone can be hard but you will never ever truly be alone.
