Don’t Doubt His Love

The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: “I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness. (Jeremiah 31:3)

These words reach out into my soul every time I read them. Reminds me of the award winning song Jireh by Elevation Worship. “I’m already loved. I’m already chosen.” To be loved is amazing. To feel loved is everything. However, sometimes we are not sure if God does love us. After all the mistakes we have made, can He? After all the wrong I have done, would He? The broken person that I am, should He? I’ll tell you right now that He does, always has and always will. He shows it to us in our lives; in little things and big things. He tells us very much so in His word. There are different ways in How He loves us, Why He loves us and Where He loves us.

How?

He loves us in action. It’s the biggest way to express your love for someone. Love without action is just words. God did something huge to show how much He loves us. He sent His son to die for us. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) Sacrifice is one of the biggest acts of love.  You can’t go bigger than that. That is why the most well-known verse of the Bible is John 3:16. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son… Because there’s no better way to show us how much God loves us. Remind yourself each time you see this verse. Sometimes hearing I love you over and over again can take a meaning away. For those who read it and feel nothing, remind yourself that it means a lot

Why?

Because He created us. We are His children. we are His beloved. See how very much our Father loves us, for He calls us His children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know Him. (1 John 3:1) He made us in his likeness. The children he is proud of no matter what happens or what we do. The ones he would fight for, and die for and search every last corner for. In the same way that we have that encompassing love for our children God has more for us. He was a parent first before we ever were. When he created us, He became the first parent in history. He showed us what love is. He gave us everything we could need in the garden of Eden. But even with us betraying him, he still forgives us and tries to show his love for us still. Regardless of the broken world that we live in, no matter what we do, say, or where we live he will always love us because we are His

Where?

Wherever we are, He is there. He is our shepherd, our father, our protector, our provider. There are a lot of ways we could describe Him, and who He is in our lives to us. But there’s no place we could be where He can’t find us or He can’t love us. Neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:39) He loves us in our dark spaces and high places. He loves us in our good moments and bad. When no one sees you, he does. When you feel like a failure, he calls you success. When you feel pain, he is close to you. When you feel alone and isolated, he is there with comfort. Nothing can keep us from His love and nothing can keep us from him.

The Bible has a lot of verses talking about His love for us. How He loves us, why He loves us, and where he loves us. This book of promises reminds us so many times of this, because in this broken world, we can easily forget. The pain that we see and go through feel strong, but he wants us to know that His love is stronger. No matter what you’re going through or how scary this world may be at this time, God will not leave you, nor for sake you. His love will always cover you and be there when you need Him. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. (Ephesians 3:18-19)
